Job Description:

At Regions, the Banking Operations Specialist is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, both on the cash line and on the phone, and contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The purpose of this role is to create meaningful personal connections with customers while processing transactions, identify ways for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving end to end customer service inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in beginning a career with opportunities for growth, development, and upward mobility.

Strong communication skills and the ability to offer personalized customer service are essential for this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Offers a reliable and optimal customer service experience at the cashier station by efficiently handling customers' financial transactions like deposits, withdrawals, and bill settlements
• Responding to customer inquiries about products and services and meeting basic servicing needs such as issuing new or replacement cards, updating information, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving basic issues
• Forges relationships with customers, staying up-to-date on their interactions with the bank
• Shows customers how to utilize standard consumer products and digital resources such as mobile applications, online platforms, and ATM facilities, to enable smoother banking experiences
• Collaborates with fellow team members to assist in addressing customer problems by completing simple tasks
• Making outbound calls to customers and prospects from compiled lead lists, offering guidance on new technology trends, and helping them address their financial necessities
• Customers are guided to an internal panel of professionals upon the acknowledgment of more sophisticated financial aspirations and demands
• Complies with all banking protocols and regulations while executing tasks designated by the Branch Manager, and as a team player, upholds prudent banking principles to handle and disclose operational hazards effectively
• Meets branch targets and accomplishments by recognizing customer needs and offering relevant direction and insight on Regions' solutions

The position mandates the tracking of hours worked over 40 hours per week and is subject to overtime compensation under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

This position offers eligibility for bonuses.

Requirements:

• Achieving a high school diploma or GED status is necessary for personal and professional growth
• Preparedness to work on Saturdays as necessary
• Capability to manage cash and perform transactions involving physical currency
• Skill in articulating thoughts and ideas through personal, telephonic, and electronic communication channels
• Skillful in the regular application of a computer, such as typing and continuous monitoring
• Proficiency in walking and standing for extended periods of time without difficulty
• Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

• A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in banking, cash handling, or customer relations

Skills and Competencies:

• Displaying adeptness in conforming to official procedures, norms, and directives
• Proficient in helping customers navigate through digital banking offerings
• Juggling several priorities simultaneously is a beneficial skill in any field
• Expertise in monitoring large sums of cash
• Concentrating on customer satisfaction and effectively creating meaningful customer bonds are important skills
