Job Summary:Commercial Banker

The Commercial Banker role will provide services for Banking Center customers and assist the team in achievement of sales, service, and operation goals, based on Webster's Strategic Guidelines. The role will process all customer related financial transactions in accordance with the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Bank. Additionally, this role uses excellent communication and active listening skills to learn about the customer's financial needs, establish trust, optimize sales opportunities, generate leads, and provide quality customer service as well as develop and maintain a strong partnership with various business segments through collaboration and communication. Ability to supervise and coach fellow relationship Bankers

Responsibilities:

• Making the most of resources and tools available enables accurate and timely responses to customers' needs
• Evaluates the requirements of clients and provides appropriate financial products and services through needs-oriented conversations aimed at establishing and enhancing relationships.
• Engage in standard teller responsibilities which encompass processing deposits, withdrawals, check encashment, loan repayments, and any other necessary financial transactions.
• Assist in implementing the segmentation strategy through sales, retention, and other bank initiatives to successfully pursue the growth and profitability objectives of the Banking Center.
• The goal is to meet or exceed expectations in sales, service, and operational duties both independently and as part of a team
• Abides by Federal and State regulations and internal bank policies and procedures. Meeting or excelling branch audit criteria and assessments of operational performance
• Help supervise banking center staff by offering guidance and coaching to fellow bankers, setting an example for others to follow. Additionally, assist in orienting new bankers to the team.

Academic Background, Professional Journey, and Competencies:

• High school diploma/GED is a minimum qualification, with a preference for those holding an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
• Looking for individuals with 2-4 years of customer sales and service experience, preferably with 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Successful history in leading, coaching, and motivating teams.
• Complete insight into all products and services provided
• Keeps informed about all systems utilized for branch transaction processing.
• Exemplifies outstanding customer service skills and the ability to promote teamwork, cultivating a positive working environment.
• Essential qualifications include the ability to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule, potentially requiring weekends, extended hours, and travel to different Banking Centers.
