Job Description: Internal Audit Specialist

Partners with their respective Line of Business, as well as other Risk, Compliance, and Audit experts, and RCA Managers to generate, implement, sustain, assess, or supervise a viable risk management system. Engages in projects and undertakings that assure conformity with relevant federal, state, and local laws and rules. Pinpoints deficiencies and recommends solutions that mitigate losses stemming from deficient internal methods, mechanisms, or human oversights. Detects, addresses, and elevates risks as suitable. Functions as an intermediary link between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist audit management in planning audit engagements, including risk assessment, process analysis, and control framework evaluation
• Oversee staff auditors in performing control testing in accordance with audit programs and internal audit standards
• Develop audit issues by identifying risk exposure, significance, root causes, and cost-effective recommendations
• Support audit leadership during reporting and audit closure phases
• Apply coaching feedback to enhance performance and professional growth
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• Typically more than five years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Strong knowledge of financial services, including accounting, financial reporting, taxation, SOX, regulatory compliance, and risk management
• In-depth understanding of global internal audit professional standards
• CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification or advanced degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines

Work Schedule:

This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, with remote work flexibility on remaining days.

Salary ranges are based on the primary job location and may vary depending on the role’s location.
