Investment Specialist

Job Summary:

An Investment Specialist provides tailored investment and financial solutions by supporting clients with their financial objectives, maintaining and growing relationships, coordinating banking and credit-related needs, and recommending appropriate investment and wealth-building products and services.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Client Engagement and Business Expansion:

• Establish and maintain a consistent rhythm for SBA-related and investment-focused business development within the market, including but not limited to:
• Developing structured call agendas and managing post-call follow-up activities
• Conducting client retention and relationship-deepening conversations
• Prospecting new clients and identifying investment opportunities
• Executing outbound telephone outreach to clients and prospects
• Participating in networking and professional events
• Build, strengthen, and expand a well-developed Center of Influence (COI) network of community and business leaders to generate referrals
• Support sales initiatives through credit analysis, loan structuring assistance, preparation and submission of SBA loan documentation, client evaluations, and qualitative assessments
• Establish new relationships and strategic partnerships to broaden investment and business connections

Investment and Credit Expertise:

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of investment products and business credit solutions available to clients
• Aligns appropriate terms, products, and investment strategies with client needs, asset life cycles, and growth objectives
• Reviews business and personal financial statements and tax returns to evaluate creditworthiness, financial strength, and risk
• Assesses short- and long-term credit and investment needs based on business cycles, cash flow trends, and anticipated growth
• Educates clients on bank underwriting standards, SBA programs, investment options, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Coordinates with attorneys, loan closers, investment partners, and internal teams to support timely execution of transactions
• Balances client objectives, return expectations, and prudent risk management principles
• Adheres to the ethical standards outlined in Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct
• Provides mentoring and guidance to junior SBA lenders or investment team members
• Ensures compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, and OFAC mandates
• Reviews applications and gathers required documentation while maintaining fair lending practices and ethical sales standards
• Responds to client inquiries promptly and professionally, escalating concerns when appropriate

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience in SBA lending, investment services, or related financial roles preferred
• At least ten years of experience in financial services, client relationship management, or business development
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite applications
