The Business Banking Officer role will provide services for Banking Center customers and assist the team in achievement of sales, service, and operation goals, based on Webster's Strategic Guidelines. The role will process all customer related financial transactions in accordance with the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Bank. Additionally, this role uses excellent communication and active listening skills to learn about the customer's financial needs, establish trust, optimize sales opportunities, generate leads, and provide quality customer service as well as develop and maintain a strong partnership with various business segments through collaboration and communication. Ability to supervise and coach fellow Relationship Bankers.
Academic Achievements, Work Experience, and Abilities:
The essential requirement is a high school diploma or GED; however, candidates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree are preferred.
Candidates should have 2–4 years of customer sales and service experience, with 1–2 years of supervisory experience being preferred. Proven success in leading, coaching, and motivating team members.
Broad comprehension of the entirety of products and services.
Keeps informed about all systems utilized for branch transaction processing.
Portrays exceptional customer service skills and a proficiency in supporting teamwork, which results in a positive work setting.
The expectation includes being able to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule, which might involve weekends, extended hours, and travel to different Banking Centers.

Responsibilities:
Accurately and promptly meeting customers' needs involves making efficient use of the available resources and tools.
Evaluates the requirements of clients and provides appropriate financial products and services through needs-oriented conversations aimed at establishing and enhancing relationships.
Carry out customary teller transactions such as depositing funds, withdrawing cash, cashing checks, repaying loans, and handling other required financial activities.
Support the implementation of the segmentation strategy through sales, retention, and additional bank initiatives to fulfill the growth and profitability objectives of the Banking Center.
Striving to excel in sales, service, and operational performance at both individual and team levels is the expectation.
Maintaining alignment with Federal and State regulations and internal bank policies and procedures, attaining or surpassing branch audit standards and assessments of operational efficiency.
Assist in supervising banking center colleagues by providing coaching and support to fellow bankers. Serve as a mentor and assist in the onboarding process for new employees.
