Job Description:

Atlantic Union Bank is seeking Mortgage Loan Consultants for the Tidewater Market in Virginia, including Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, and Norfolk. Candidates must have at least two years of recent Mortgage Loan Officer experience along with proven relationships and production within a defined market.

This role is responsible for originating and closing mortgage loan applications, submitting completed loan files for processing, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The position also requires developing and executing a structured business strategy to increase loan production and strengthen referral partnerships.

Position Accountabilities:

• Assist clients with mortgage loan applications through phone, mail, and in-person interactions and approve required disclosures
• Ensure all application fields and third-party documentation are completed prior to submission
• Determine appropriate loan program placement including FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, and others
• Price loans and lock interest rates in accordance with company policy
• Review applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance requirements
• Run Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings and evaluate required documentation
• Prepare pre-qualification requests following company guidelines
• Order credit reports, appraisals, and title work as needed
• Maintain regular communication with clients and referral partners
• Guide borrowers throughout the loan process and resolve inquiries
• Submit loan files within required timelines and coordinate with processing teams
• Track loan pipeline and ensure timely movement through each stage
• Support processors and internal stakeholders during file processing
• Meet or exceed production goals and performance targets
• Attend loan closings when required or appropriate
• Develop annual business plans and meet regularly with sales leadership
• Stay informed on market trends, real estate conditions, and regulatory updates
• Maintain professional standards aligned with company policies

Organizational Relationship:

• Reports to Sales Manager or Branch Manager

Position Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Minimum two years of mortgage lending or related industry experience required
• NMLS registration required

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to generate independent leads and develop new business relationships
• Strong client relationship management capabilities
• Knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines
• Ability to work effectively with clients, processors, and internal teams

Compensation and Equal Opportunity:

Compensation will be based on education, experience, certifications, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation or discretionary profit-sharing bonuses.
