Job Title: Loan Collections Representative

Position Summary:

To ensure the financial stability of the loan portfolio, the Loan Collections Representative engages with customers who are in default to establish payment plans or settlements.

Vital Responsibilities and Job Expectations:

• Handles inbound and outbound calls to address overdue real estate and non-real estate accounts, identifying the reasons for delinquency.
• Manages the processing and distribution of indirect loan payments.
• Maintains and updates loan files.
• Performs telephone-based payment transactions for the corporate office to support reconciliation efforts.
• Advises clients on managing their financial obligations and offers alternative solutions and recommendations.
• Records precise details of account statuses and collection actions in the bank's system.
• Collection activities may require working beyond standard 8-5 hours.
• Ensures departmental tasks and documentation comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including mandatory compliance training.
• Demonstrates familiarity with multiple key operating systems.
• Performs additional responsibilities such as training new team members, managing the Consumer Collections inbox, overseeing Total Loss/Captive Claim accounts, handling Debt Management accounts/spreadsheets, and assisting in Policies and Procedures implementation.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and interpret basic directions, brief messages, and short written communications.
• Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial and legal documents.
• Ability to draft simple business correspondence and routine reports.
• Strong written communication skills for responding to customer complaints, regulatory entities, or business contacts.

Education And/Or Experience:

• HS Diploma/GED.
• Six to eight years of collections experience, or equivalent skill set to perform essential duties effectively.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Jack Henry platform.
