Role Overview:

Old National Bank is seeking a Banking Underwriter to review commercial loan opportunities, analyze financial information, assess credit risk, and ensure loan requests meet established lending standards. The Banking Underwriter works with Relationship Managers and internal teams to provide credit guidance, support portfolio management, and help deliver sound lending solutions.

This position requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple credit applications efficiently while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 3-7 years of experience in commercial underwriting, commercial credit analysis, or related lending roles.
• Ability to independently analyze financial statements and credit information.
• Knowledge of loan structuring, lending practices, credit risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate credit recommendations clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent professional experience.

Core Responsibilities:

Credit Review and Risk Assessment:

• Review financial statements, credit reports, and commercial loan applications to evaluate potential risks.
• Assess borrower financial strength, repayment capacity, and relevant industry conditions.
• Prepare credit documentation and ensure loan requests meet bank policies and procedures.
• Manage multiple loan reviews while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Relationship Team Collaboration:

• Support Relationship Managers and internal teams with credit analysis and lending recommendations.
• Communicate credit findings, risks, and recommendations to support business objectives.
• Collaborate with lending teams to develop appropriate solutions for clients.

Portfolio and Risk Management:

• Monitor commercial loan portfolios and identify potential credit risks.
• Review financial updates, loan performance, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with portfolio reviews and risk management activities.
