Acting as an intermediary between commercial banking customers and the Bank, the Commercial Loan Specialist plays an integral role in assisting Commercial Relationship Managers in managing various loan types. Their key responsibilities include upholding and strengthening client relationships by delivering comprehensive support services, actively boosting client satisfaction levels, and promoting relationship development. Through frequent interactions with clients and the implementation of established procedures, they develop a solid understanding of assigned areas and client accounts, with essential duties being carried out independently but monitored to a limited extent.
Commercial Loan Specialist Key Responsibilities:
Oversee routine customer calls, transactions, and conflict resolution.
Assist with client queries about their accounts, manage account updates, and investigate and resolve any client-related issues.
Conduct customer transactions within approved parameters or relevant department guidelines, escalating any requests that deviate from standard procedures or necessitate approval from the Relationship Manager.
Perform a range of financial tasks like transfers, withdrawals, distributions, wire transfers, payments, fee waivers, refunds, client overdrafts, and monitoring reports as instructed by clients.
Support in acquiring the information required for loan submissions, which may include financial statements, tax returns, and relevant business documentation.
Engage with external suppliers such as legal professionals, title companies, UCC search providers, and other service vendors to acquire the needed loan documents and conduct the requisite research and analysis.
Aid in the completion of OFAC Environmental Reports, property assessments, flood zone determinations, title research, and any other pertinent loan criteria as needed.
Specialization in loan documentation involves verifying the correctness of loan documents and legal loan archives.
Examine and structure legal loan documents, supplementary details, and digital records to validate their correctness and entirety.
Support in the organization and assessment of client account documentation in anticipation of discussions led by Relationship Managers and clients, with a focus on verifying signatures, exactness, adherence to regulations, and compliance standards.
Submitting complete and precise documentation requests that adhere to the approved loans.
Verify that all the essential documents are present in Director/Unity Client to facilitate the generation of loan agreements, including approvals for loans, Borrower information, Guarantor details, Grantor entity documentation, collateral appraisals, and other pertinent data.
Compile and deliver full documentation bundles to Loan Servicing to support the Boarding/Funding procedures and ensure that fees collected are accurately credited to the appropriate GLs.
Upload all required documentation to Director/Unity Client promptly and validate the completeness of scanned files.
Arrange notifications in Credit Track according to the criteria laid out in the loan agreement and the commitments of the guarantor.
Help Relationship Managers in obtaining the required data to clear reminders.
Aid Commercial Relationship Managers and group managers in evaluating and certifying the legitimacy of legal entities such as DBA, partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, LLC, and trust entities.
Help with reviewing and validating real estate collateral documentation, such as title commitments, environmental reports, insurance against hazards, and property valuations.
Provide support for validating titled collateral in accordance with UCC regulations.
Collaborate with internal Treasury and Retail Banking teams, as well as other referral programs within the organization, to assist Commercial Relationship Managers and group managers in optimizing the usage of treasury and deposit products, including payment and wealth offerings.
Comply with the Code of Ethics and regulations pertaining to Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, confidentiality, and the reporting of suspicious behaviors.
Join in necessary corporate and business division training that addresses compliance and regulatory accountabilities.
Follow the internal regulations and procedures concerning the reporting and handling of suspicious activities within the scope of the job.
Work closely with clients to comprehend their standard account operations, as deemed necessary for the position.
Retain knowledge of regulatory, legal, and Credit Policy standards to uphold adherence to requirements in applications, documentation, and loan accounts.
Attend training sessions within and outside the organization to enhance product knowledge related to the Bank.
Take part in operational and exception meetings and ensure awareness of credit policies and any changes in the policies.
Sustain positive rapport with team members and peers within the business unit.
Generate or retrieve reports as required, covering daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly periods.
Examine reports for accuracy and adherence with regulations, and make adjustments to update systems or rectify any discrepancies.
Bring client accounts into agreement when requested.
Document client financial information in digital databases.
Monitor instances of non-compliance with company rules.
Ensure a deep familiarity with critical software applications and varying Loan Operating Systems.

A nuanced grasp of applicable national regulations, credit protocols, and institutional policies.

Education and Experience:
Candidates must possess either a High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) to be considered.
