Job Description:

Identifies customer needs through the bank's retail sales process to offer proactive sales solutions through interacting with customers for basic needs, and refers complex customer needs to the suitable team member or partner. Specializes in improving the branch's customer experience by managing the lobby area, providing services, and engaging in sales interactions with retail and business customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Play key role in Relationship Management, Sales Process and Risk Management and customer information profile.
• Explore customer profiles to uncover insights on how to elevate the banking experience for clients and pivot towards conversing about their financial targets
• Recognize the financial requirements of customers and present a range of suitable product and service choices through effective collaboration with relevant internal business partners.
• Proactively communicate with clients via email or telephone to follow up and provide information on value-added products/services that address their specific needs
• Establish relationships with new customers by actively engaging them through tailored outreach strategies
• Enhance trust with your existing client base by consistently reaching out to them in a proactive manner
• Schedule predetermined appointments for the upcoming week and consistently attend appointments each week
• Prepares effectively for the planned appointment with the customer
• Conduct interactions to assist customers.
• Follow the applicable compliance and operational risk controls as mandated by Company policies and regulatory standards.
• Foster a culture that promotes a sense of fitting in and mirrors the identity of M&T Bank.
• Comply with M&T internal control regulations, ensuring timely implementation of internal and external audit suggestions and addressing any concerns raised by external regulators where relevant.
• Execute other relevant duties as designated.
• In charge of ensuring registration requirements are met and maintained per the Federal SAFE Act

Scope of Responsibilities:

• As the central figure in the branch for sales, service, and referral opportunities, this position is crucial for supporting overall branch goals and operational requirements.
• The position acts as a central element in managing customer traffic within the branch to advance these undertakings.
• The role entails servicing current customers and advancing business growth through identifying sales prospects with clients.
• Staying current on changes and enhancements in operations, products, and systems is crucial for this position, as is showcasing strong risk management acumen in aiding the branch to reduce preventable losses and address instances of fraud.

Necessary qualifications and hands-on knowledge:

• Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED) and a track record of at least 2 years in retail sales, call center roles, customer service, or telesales
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal aptitude
• Established proficiency in demonstrating exemplary customer relations
• Person with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Displayed familiarity with a diverse range of financial products
• Skilful communication that is both diplomatic and tactful is key when engaging with internal and external customers
• Proficient in utilizing everyday internet technology accessible to the average user
• Associates degree
• Notary public license
• Adjusting language fluency based on the distinctive needs of various departments

Physical Requirements:

• Competence to stand for extended periods without strain
• Sustained utilization of hands and fingers over a prolonged period
• Adept at lifting items of various weights, including those between 5 and 30 pounds
• Aptitude for reading small print
• Aptitude for engaging with customers in a direct, interpersonal work atmosphere
• Adeptness in using fax, telephone systems, copiers, and various communication tools
