The Centralized Commercial Lending Renewal Team is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to evaluate business loan applications by adhering to the established policies and procedures of the Bank.

Responsibilities:

• Assess cash flow reports along with Moody's spreads from either self-prepared sources or those prepared by the Credit Analyst. Undertake a comprehensive review of financial data to offer a recommendation on granting or rejecting new loans as per Bank policies. Create a Credit Origination Memorandum that is clear and succinct, pinpointing the positives, challenges, and strategies to manage risks.
• Delve into financial and related data to evaluate the creditworthiness of loan candidates and the viability of particular loan applications. Collaborate with Relationship Managers and executives to gather all necessary information crucial for precise and exhaustive evaluations of loan eligibility.
• Create detailed credit approval documentation that encompasses comprehensive analysis and detection of credit challenges and uncertainties. Use Excel to interpret and analyze financial reports, tax returns, and projected financial data effectively.
• Give advice on structuring loans and recommend alternative setups appropriate for diverse financial transactions.
• Function effectively in a high-volume arena, meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements and turnaround targets through the provision of prompt credit verdicts.
• Work autonomously on distinct projects associated with credit themes upon request from Bank Credit divisions.
• Stay vigilant and promptly report any potentially suspicious activities in accordance with proper protocols.
• Execute supplementary duties as instructed.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree is a prerequisite, or an equal balance of educational attainment and practical expertise is considered.
• Extensive involvement in the analysis of commercial credit requests over a duration of three (3) to five (5) years.

• Basic knowledge of evaluating credit risk for commercial loans.
• Skill in interacting with a diverse range of clients, team members, and administrators.
• Capable of performing effectively in a team atmosphere where adhering to time limits is crucial.
• Excel expertise stands out among various MS Office skills.
• Shows expertise in organization, meticulousness, and adept at managing multiple tasks with efficiency.
• Competence in working self-sufficiently and executing reasoned choices.
• Sound proficiency in articulating thoughts coherently through both written and spoken means.
• Acquaintance with common bank operations and awareness of deposit, small business, investment, and insurance options.
• Proficiency in Moody's CreditLens is a plus.
• Familiarity with nCino is preferred.
