Position Summary:Internal Audit Analyst

The Internal Audit Analyst plays a vital role in executing and documenting internal audit assurance activities driven by risk assessments, which may include complex assignments. This role involves reviewing audit results, identifying gaps in internal controls, and recommending meaningful improvements. The Senior Internal Auditor may also oversee sections or essential components of smaller audits or specialized reviews.

Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Prepare for and lead client meetings, documenting outcomes through written summaries, flowcharts, and visual process maps to illustrate complex organizational workflows.
• Review process documentation to assess the design, effectiveness, and efficiency of existing controls.
• Develop and execute audit testing strategies using data analysis methodologies.
• Identify control deficiencies, associated risks, and root causes.
• Support and mentor junior team members to enhance their performance and professional development.
• Communicate audit issues clearly and effectively to Management and the Engagement Manager.
• Strengthen auditing capabilities by refining risk assessment and project management skills.
• Expand knowledge of organizational operations, procedures, policies, and financial institution regulations.
• Prepare audit documentation aligned with Truist Audit Services standards and guidelines.
• Work independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines and achieve assigned objectives.
• Apply constructive feedback to improve performance and future audit outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Four to six years of experience in banking, auditing, or a related discipline.
• Growing knowledge of technology concepts, cybersecurity, IT systems, IT service management practices, and technology trends.
• Understanding of IT General Controls (ITGCs), IT Application Controls (ITACs), and the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with IT, information security, and cloud governance frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, NIST, SOX, and PCI DSS.
• Strong decision-making abilities.
• Solid foundation in auditing principles, methodologies, techniques, risk assessment, and documentation.
• Developing strengths in analytical, auditing, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to comprehend key concepts within complex data sets.
• Skill in identifying root causes and synthesizing information to create actionable solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying difficulty.
• Capability to work independently with minimal direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CIA, or a willingness to obtain them.
• Experience with Truist Audit Services software and industry-specific tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
• Ability to validate the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of regulatory-related data and documentation.
• Experience developing and performing regulatory validation testing procedures, plans, and methodologies.
