Job Summary:

The role of the Home Financing Specialist is to effectively begin mortgage loans within a specific non-bank area. This involves receiving and assessing loan applications, forwarding them for processing and underwriting approval. The individual must also ensure timely collection of essential documents needed for processing, underwriting, and closing procedures. Additionally, the position requires consistent involvement in initiating and securing loan sales and executing sales-related responsibilities outside U.S. Bank sites.

Key Responsibilities of Home Financing Specialist:

• Tasks include originating mortgage loans for clients in a defined area not associated with traditional banking institutions.
• Accepts loan applications, evaluates them, and sends them to the underwriting team for final approval.
• Acts promptly to gather all necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing processes.
• Engaged in loan selling tasks outside the confines of U.S. Bank branches on a consistent basis, with over half of their working hours spent in external settings.

Basic Qualifications of Home Financing Specialist:

• Obtaining a high school diploma or an equal qualification.
• The job requires a minimum of one year of experience in mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking.
• Ability to travel.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Well-developed sales ability.
• Familiarity with the pricing strategies and underwriting requirements of diverse mortgage insurance companies is necessary.
• Familiarity with the underwriting standards for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
• Basic awareness of laws concerning different geographical scopes such as local, state, and national.
• Proficiency in carrying out tasks individually.
• High competency in processing and analyzing financial information.
• Mastery of effective verbal and written interaction techniques.
• It is preferable to have an existing set of referrals within the assigned market segment.
