Job Description:

The Loan Consultant is responsible for growing the bank's mortgage loan portfolio by networking with real estate professionals, builders, and other key stakeholders in the community.

Key Duties:

• Initiates the mortgage loan application process.
• Negotiates to define the terms and financial costs associated with loans.
• Collects critical customer information and provides expert guidance on product selections.
• Ensures compliance with mortgage regulations by providing all required disclosures and notices to customers.
• Secures investor commitments for locked interest rates.
• Manages the loan pipeline to safeguard the bank against interest rate risks.
• Ensures all departmental documents and tasks comply with laws, rules, policies, and procedures, including completion of mandatory compliance training.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

• Ability to interpret procedural manuals, business communications, and legal documents.
• Competence in analyzing financial statements and legal paperwork.
• Proficiency in preparing standard reports and professional business correspondence.
• Skill in responding to written inquiries from customers, regulatory authorities, or business stakeholders.
• Strong verbal communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions with clients, customers, or internal teams.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• NMLS License required.
