Role Overview:Regional Branch Leader

Supervises the operations of a branch and ensures its overall success by concentrating on customer and employee satisfaction, facilitating digital interactions, overseeing transactions and operations, delivering top-notch service, driving sales, and meeting personal production quotas.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Directing sales efforts and business development activities to enhance profitability, meet operational milestones, and attain annual branch goals.
• Supervises and leads a team through coaching, performance evaluation, and priority setting. Supports the growth and progress of branch staff.
• Discovers the Retail and Business Banking customer needs through M&T's sales processes, utilizing tools and resources to support customers with both short-term fixes and long-term strategies.
• Initiates and cultivates Business Banking connections through proactive outreach strategies, contributing to relationship growth. Establishes a strong community presence for the bank, elevating its profile.
• Engages in interviews and makes staffing selections as per the model in place.
• Takes on the role of actively exemplifying and guiding behaviors regarding customer service and determining needs. Enforces and preserves accountability for the implementation of the Retail strategy.
• Adhering to operational and business banking requirements is indispensable for compliance and security purposes. Uphholding control policies and procedures is paramount to safeguarding customer assets and preventing fraud within the banking sector.
• Takes responsibility for managing complex account servicing and error resolution matters, even those elevated by other Bankers. Provides mentoring and advice to enhance and minimize potential resolution issues and escalations.
• Connects with team members and partners in a suitable manner.
• Manages Business Banking loan applications up to $100,000 autonomously. Engages in bundling products and services appropriately.
• Maintains compliance with operational risk controls according to Company guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Supports a setting that promotes a sense of belonging and reflects the values of M&T Bank.
• Maintains adherence to M&T internal control standards, promptly enacting internal and external audit recommendations and addressing any issues raised by external regulators as relevant.
• Undertakes other relevant tasks as delegated.
• Implements the routine responsibilities of a manager in handling staffing matters, appraising performance, recommending promotions and salaries, managing performance, and dealing with terminations.

Responsibilities:

Tasked with reporting to a Retail Regional Manager, the individual in this role will lead the branch team in achieving annual sales and profitability goals while possessing a thorough knowledge of branch operations.

• Branch Managers are accountable for implementing and upholding the federal registration prerequisites outlined in the SAFE Act.
• Branch Managers are required to stay informed about operational, product, and system developments, and demonstrate effective risk management judgments. Furthermore, they must ensure compliance with the Insurance licensing standards specified in the MTS Licensed Banker Academy guidelines. The minimum expectations for Business Banking Specialists will be jointly established by the Branch and Retail Regional Manager.
• One of the main tasks for Branch Managers is to allocate their time effectively between addressing the needs of current customers and focusing on business growth by engaging in proactive sales and outside calling endeavors.
• Branch Managers are accountable for developing productive alliances with appropriate bank departments to address customer needs, service challenges, and employee matters promptly and accurately. They are responsible for managing customer issues until they are satisfactorily resolved.

The credentials and practical experience expected for a certain role:

• Branch Managers are generally tasked with overseeing the performance of branch staff.
• While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, candidates can present four years of relevant experience in its place. A minimum of three years of sales experience is required, as well as at least two years of managerial experience or demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing compliance is mandatory within 18 months after entering the position, subject to the discretion of the Market Manager or branch-specific requirements. The branch facilitates training for obtaining the necessary licenses within the initial 6-month period.
• Attaining the position of M&T Business Banking Specialist is feasible within 18 months of starting employment.
• Manifested a deep knowledge of business banking services, products, and adept at fostering strong client relationships.

• Ideal candidates should hold a Precision Leadership certification and possess proficiency in both English and Spanish, with a preference for the latter
• Demonstrate proficiency in using popular computer software, particularly Microsoft Office programs for creating text files and spreadsheets.
• Candidates who have previous experience with internet and email are preferred.
